A sudden death in Kitchener has police investigating.

Regional police said emergency services were called to an area around Krug and Cambridge after 3:00 a.m. Thursday for a report of an unresponsive man on the side of the road.

Police said Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services performed life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead shortly after.

The death is not being considered suspicious, with an officer telling 570 NEWS it appears the man suffered from a medical event.

Krug Street was closed for a few hours Thursday, but has since reopened.
