Two suspects impersonate police at Kitchener apartment complex

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Waterloo Regional Police are asking the community to remain vigilant.

It follows a suspicious persons report at an apartment complex on Belmont Avenue in Kitchener.

Police said Sunday night, two male suspects tried to enter the building, and told a resident they were officers.

Police are reminding the public that officers have proper identification, like a badge and ID card.

The service also said, “Residents can request identification from police officers in circumstances where it is safe and reasonable to do so.”

Anyone with information on the weekend incident is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
