Logan Stanley, plays first game with Kitchener Rangers against his former team the Windsor Spitfires

The Kitchener Rangers announced a month ago that they had acquired Logan Stanley from the Windsor Spitfires

Stanley had played with the Spitfires for a few years, and as hockey life goes he was traded to the Rangers.

A Waterloo native, Stanley now has the opportunity to play for his home town club. “What a start to Logan Stanley’s Kitchener Rangers career, I mean he gets to suit up for his home town team (Rangers), against the only team he has ever known in the Ontario Hockey League (Spitfires), so I can only imagine what is going through his mind tonight as he is at the arena that he has played his home games for years,” said Mike Farwell, voice for the Kitchener Rangers on 570 News.

Stanley brings lots of experience with him, as he is a Memorial Cup winner, and is just returning from the Winnipeg Jets pro camp.

Being traded to your home town team is not the worst thing that could happen “trades are a part of life in hockey even at this level, he has also had some time, Logan has, to get used to the idea of playing for a different team, obviously the trade happening over a month ago, he is always home in the summer anyways doing his training and then he goes off to a pro camp for the Winnipeg Jets,” said Farwell.

Stanley’s first game is tonight, and it will be an interesting one ” there is always going to be emotions when you are playing against your former team, it’s just in this case your first game with your new team, is against your former team,” said Farwell.
