The next phase of streetscape improvement construction in Uptown Waterloo will close King and Erb streets starting next week.
Drivers won’t be able to access King Street between Erb Street and Bridgeport Road, and Erb Street from Albert Street to King Street starting July 24th.
Senior Project Manager Eric Saunderson says the closure is expected to last 10 weeks.
“We’ve had a relatively rainy spring and summer so far, which can contribute towards delays. We are advancing the King and Erb Street work, as originally planned.”
Saunderson adds that the temporary two-way detour on Bridgeport between Regina and King will be extended to Albert Street for this stage of construction. One lane of traffic will also remain open from Erb to Albert, and pedestrian access will be maintained.
You can see a list of detours below.
- Eastbound traffic on Erb Street can take Albert Street to head north.
- Eastbound traffic on Erb Street can take Caroline or William to King Street to head south.
- Southbound and northbound traffic can use Regina Street as an alternate to King Street.
