A strike at Ontario’s community colleges possible in new year

The threat of a strike at Ontario’s community colleges in the new year looms larger today.
The union representing 9,000 faculty says its preparing for a January 13 strike vote.
The Ontario Public Service Employees Union accuses the college of showing little interest in bargaining leaving it little choice but to move onto the next step.
Talks broke down yesterday and no new ones are planned.
OPSEU President Warren Thomas accuses the colleges of breaking off negotiations saying his bargaining team came forward with “significant modifications” only to be rebuffed.
He accuses management of bargaining in bad faith.  
He says the key issue is improving education for students and insists the offer they tabled is affordable.
