Kitchener man convicted again of attempted murder & conspiracy to commit murder

A Kitchener man is scheduled to be sentenced in April after being convicted a second time of convincing his children to try and drown their mother in a bathtub.
The man has been convicted of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
The case dates back several years and court heard how their two sons – aged 16 and 14 at the time – tried unsuccessfully to get their mother into a bathtub where the plan was to drown her.
Today’s Record reports, court was told the man hatched the plot after his wife had him served with divorce papers.
The two boys were charged and later received absolute discharges.
In 2010, the man was convicted of the same crimes and sentenced to 12 years behind bars.
The Ontario Court of Appeal overturned the convictions earlier this year, setting the stage for this most recent trial.
We can’t release the name of the man because of his children’s’ ages at the time of the crime.
