CHARLOTTETOWN – A profile of Rob Lantz, leader of the Progressive Conservatives in Prince Edward Island.

Age: 45.

Early Years: His great grandfather operated a lobster processing plant and his grandfather was one of the founders of the P.E.I.’s first medical clinic. Lantz’s father, Dr. Brodie Lantz, is a family doctor.

Education: Lantz is a graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island and Holland College in Charlottetown.

Career: He has worked as a programmer and project manager for software company DeltaWare systems for the past 16 years. Lantz was first elected to Charlottetown city council in 2006 and re-elected in 2010. He became leader of the Progressive Conservative party on Feb. 28.

Family: Lantz and his wife Kelly have two school-age boys, Brodie and Ronan.
