Puempel scores first NHL goal

Former Kitchener Rangers forward Matt Puempel scored his first National Hockey League goal on Tuesday night.

He scored Ottawa’s lone goal in a 3-1 home loss to the Boston Bruins. The goal coming against one of the league’s best goalies, Tuukka Rask.

It’s also Puempel’s first NHL point, as he’s played just seven games with the Senators.

Ottawa is now seven points back of the Bruins for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
