A pot of oil left unattended on a stove is blamed for a kitchen fire in Kitchener.

Regional Police say it broke out around 10 last night at an apartment on Wellington Street North.

Police say a 39-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering from minor smoke inhalation.

There was no serious damage to the building.
