GRCA watching water levels

The Grand River Conservation Authority says the heavy snow melt could produce some flooding in low-lying areas of the Grand River watershed.

Water levels along the Grand, Conestogo, Speed and Nith rivers will rise today as runoff from the north flows downstream.

The GRCA says flows in the upper Grand River peaked Friday at levels that have the potential for flooding in Waldemar and at Regional Road 25.

Nith River levels are forecast to crest in Ayr Saturday morning with flooding of low-lying areas.
