Country Line Dancing National steps into Kitchener

The City of Kitchener is inviting residents from all around to experience a weekend filled with line dancing and country music at Bingemans Event Square.
True North Line Dance National will bring competitions, country music, and dancing workshops into the region over the three day long event. The sanctioned event marks the start of the national qualifier circuit for Ontario 1.
Inviting people that are not only experienced, but also beginners with organizers saying that it’s the perfect time to start dancing.
To kick things off, Andrew Hyatt, a country music artist from Sudbury, will be making an appearance Friday night. His performance will follow up with an all-request social dance. Throughout the rest of the event, dance instructors will be leading different workshops while competitions and music continue through the weekend.
Altogether, there are five divisions for their line dance competitions:
- Novice – Coed: A good place to start your line dancing competitions, recommended for a participants first time
- Intermediate – Coed: A step-up in competition, recommended for dancers who are looking for more challenge
- Ruby (40+) – Coed: A division for dancers aged 40+, highlighting experience and style
- Advanced – Men: A high level of competition for male dancers ready to show off their talents at the highest level
- Advanced – Women: A high level of competition for female dancers ready to show off their talents at the highest level
For each division, performances will be judged on timing, technique, musicality, and showmanship.
Finally, each day of the weekend will host different events and workshops. Though, access to some additional workshops or classes may require additional payment.
