Rent issues close Coco Frutti in Uptown Waterloo

A popular breakfast location nestled right in the core of Uptown Waterloo has closed its doors.

A notice from the property’s landlord, posted on the doors of Coco Frutti’s location in the Shops at Waterloo Town Square, stated that the tenancy had been terminated as of April 18.

According to that notice, the main issue leading to the termination of the lease appeared to be “namely, default of payment of rent.”

That notice has also given Coco Frutti owners until Thursday to remove their goods and vacate the unit, or be subject to additional costs.

As of Tuesday afternoon, crews were in the process of taking furniture, equipment and dishware out of the restaurant.

570 NewsRadio has reached out to Coco Frutti’s Head Office for more details on the closure.
