G2 driver charged with stunt driving in Waterloo

A driver with a G2 licence is facing a list of charges, including stunt driving, after being nabbed by police at excessive speeds on Waterloo’s University Avenue East.

According to regional police, the driver was stopped on Wednesday around 11:50 p.m. on University Avenue East after being spotted travelling at speeds of 107 km/h in a posted 60 zone.

The man behind the wheel has since been charged with stunt driving, and speeding.

That stunt driving charge also includes mandatory, immediate consequences of a 30-day license suspension, as well as a 14-day vehicle impound.

Police have since reminded drivers to maintain safe speeds and driving habits.

“Your choices behind the wheel matter, and they can save lives.” reads that message.
