Head-on, two-vehicle crash sends five to hospital

Waterloo regional police are investigating a head-on crash that sent multiple people to hospital on Wednesday with serious injuries.
It was around 4:20 p.m. when police responded to that two-vehicle crash in the area of Listowel and Steffler roads in Woolwich Township, involving a Dodge van and a Chevrolet pickup.
Four occupants in the involved Dodge van are said to have been injured, as the 25-year-old man behind the wheel and one passenger were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other two passengers had to be transported to an out-of-region hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
Also injured was the driver of the Chevrolet pickup, a 51-year-old man. Police said that driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to local hospital.
Listowel Road was closed between Line 86 and Floradale Road for several hours and has since reopened.
The investigation into the collision, however, is still ongoing.
