Two men arrested after stolen vehicle recovered in Wilmot: WRPS

A pair of arrests have been made by Waterloo Regional Police after a stolen vehicle was recovered in a ditch in Wilmot Township.
On Friday December 5 around 2 a.m., officers on patrol in the area of Bleams Road and Queens Street in Wilmot found a vehicle in a ditch. Through the investigation, they found that the vehicle was stolen.
One of the occupants was arrested, and the second one attempted to escape by running though a field. Officers caught up to him, placing him under arrest.
Officers recovered suspected cannabis in the vehicle as well as stolen property that was believed to have been stolen from a Waterloo business on November 28.
A 44-year-old man and a 35 year-old man have both been charged. The 44-year-old was charged with two counts of breach of probation, possession of stolen property over $5,000, robbery and trespass at night. The 35-year-old was also charged with two counts of breach of probation, possession of stolen property over $5,000, but was also charged with possession of over 30 grams of cannabis.
Both men were held for a bail hearing and the investigation is ongoing.
