A popular camp and weekend destination for Kitchener families is closing its doors immediately.
Playgrounds Movement Training Centre on Frederick Street posted on social media Monday that it will be shutting down permanently.
“It has been an honour to be a part of this community, and we are devastated to be leaving it. We are incredibly sorry we are not able to continue with any of our planned classes, programs or bookings,” the post reads.
Not only will those classes not continue, but refunds for those programs are not available at this time.
“Unfortunately, due to the nature of the closure, we are unable to process any refunds for payments that have already taken place. All payment plans for ongoing programs will be halted effective immediately.”
For those looking to get their money back, the gym said an email is coming with information on how to make claim.
“Despite our strongest efforts and intentions, continuing is no longer an option. We understand this news will come as a shock and disappointment. We recognize the impact this will have, and are truly heartbroken that there is nothing further we can do.”
The parkour gym, just two years ago, opened an extended space in the same parking lot as its original location at Frederick Street and Victoria Street North, which opened eight years ago in 2017.
