Evening collision leads to impaired driving charge

Two drivers were injured in a collision in Kitchener Tuesday evening.

According to Waterloo Regional Police (WRPS), just before 10:00 p.m. a Mazda crossed the center line on Doon Village Road north of Pioneer Drive, crashing into a Toyota coming the other way.

The driver of the Toyota, a 62-year-old Kitchener man and the Mazda driver, a 35-year old Kitchener man, were transported to hospital for treatment of their injuries. The nature and severity of those injuries were not specified.

The Mazda driver was charged with :

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – 80 plus
  • Dangerous operation

The WRPS Traffic Services Unit continues to investigate.
