Attempted murder charges laid after stabbing in Guelph

Attempted murder charges have been laid after a stabbing in Guelph.

Two men with stab wounds showed up at Guelph General Hospital Tuesday night just before 9:30 p.m.

Police were called, and their investigation determined the two men were injured in the Yarmouth Street and Woolwich Street area, where several people were visiting a home and an altercation occurred.

According to police, the assailant didn’t personally know either victim.

The two men were admitted to hospital in stable condition.

Thursday morning, officers arrested a 29-year-old Guelph man who is facing several charges, including two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
