Hanlon closed overnight after two-vehicle fatal collision

A nearly seven hour closure was in place on the Hanlon Parkway through Guelph overnight Wednesday.
Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said it was due to a fatal collision between College Avenue West and Stone Road West. The details around the collision are limited at this time, just that the crash between two vehicles happened around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say one person was seriously injured with life-threatening injuries. They were pronounced dead in hospital.
Their identity has not yet been released by police.
There is no word on whether or not anyone else involved in the crash was injured.
It is also not clear at this time whether or not any charges will be laid.
The major roadway was closed around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, with OPP posting Thursday morning around 2:10 a.m. that all lanes had reopened.
