Motorcycle ‘engulfed in flames’ in Kitchener collision

A 64-year-old Kitchener man is now in hospital after an evening collision that left a motorcycle engulfed in flames on Tuesday.

It was around 8:35 p.m. when police responded alongside emergency services to a reported collision on Weber Street East, near Arlington Boulevard, involving a motorcycle and a black Toyota.

A police investigation showed that the driver of the Toyota, a 31-year-old man, was exiting from a private driveway when they he with the motorcycle.

That collision lead to the motorcycle becoming engulfed in flames.

The driver of the motorcycle, that 64-year-old Kitchener man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an out-of-region hospital. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.

A road closure was rolled out along Weber between Franklin Street South and Fergus Avenue for the police investigation.

That road closure has since been lifted.
