Advanced voting turnout rises across Waterloo Region from 2021: Elections Canada

Elections Canada has released new data on many people voted in advanced polls for the 2025 Federal Election, and in what ridings.

The data set shows that an estimated 7,280,975 voters cast a ballot between April 18 and April 21 across the country, an increase of 25 per cent from the last election. In 2021, 5,852,391 voters cast a ballot during the advanced polls.

In Waterloo Region, the riding of Kitchener Conestoga saw the highest turnout of voters, with 24,855. The lowest was in Cambridge with 21,983. The riding with the highest turnout outside of Waterloo Region, but in the surrounding area, was Wellington-Halton Hills North, with 28,286 votes already cast.

All local ridings, except for Guelph, saw an increase in voter turnout in early voting compared to 2021, according to Elections Canada results from the 44th General Election. The ridings for Wellington-Halton Hills North and Milton East-Halton Hills South are new ridings for this election.
