Stayin’ alive: Rangers force Game 5 in dominant win over Windsor

The Kitchener Rangers kept their dreams of a championship alive with an impressive 3-0 win over the Windsor Spitfires on Wednesday night.

Rangers forward Luke Ellinas was critical in front of the goal, netting a hat-trick in the second period to give Kitchener the edge on offence.

“This is a guy who emptied his tank here tonight,” said 570’s Colour Commentator Paul Fixter on Eliinas’ performance. “He’ll do the same thing, he wants to put the team on his back and carry them, he started that tonight.”

At the other end of the ice, Kitchener goaltender Jackson Parsons was perfect in net, stopping all 24 shots he faced on the night.

“He found his game again,” said Fixter. “He struggled a little but as the team had in the first three games. Tonight, he outplayed the guy at the other end.”

“I think it’ll be really good for his confidence as we head into Game 5.”

The Blueshirts remain on the edge of elimination and trail Windsor 3-1 in their second round playoff series.

The series returns to Windsor for Game 5 on Friday night. If the Rangers can pick up a win away from home, they’ll return to The Aud for Game 6 on Sunday.
