A freezing rain warning has been lifted for Waterloo Region.
Environment Canada called for ice accretion of 3 to 5 millimeters, possibly impacting the drive and causing power outages.
The Grand River Transit network says their light rail service between Northfield Station and Fairway Station is now running. The serviced announced this morning that its light rail service will not be running because of the weather.
Allister Aalders, 570 meteorologist, said the system is “far from over” as the region can expect more rain.
“Rain showers and drizzle continue throughout the day and through the night tonight,” said Aalders. “Late this evening into the early overnight, there will be a risk of scattered thunderstorms passing through southern Ontario, including Waterloo Region.”
Environment Canada says the high for today is 6 C.
