Early shooting in Kitchener leaves one in hospital, police investigating
A 30-year-old man is now in hospital as Waterloo Regional Police say they’ve now begun a shooting investigation, in the area of Vanier Drive and Massey Avenue.
It was around 2:12 a.m. Wednesday when officers were called for reports that a man had been shot.
They located a 30-year-old upon arrival, with “injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.” He was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. That man is now said to be in stable condition.

Providing an update into their investigation late Wednesday morning, police confirmed that an altercation did take place inside of a home on Vanier Drive, resulting in a 30-year-old woman being seen by paramedics and later released. That woman was not injured.
Details are limited, though police have said they believe the shooting was targeted.
A male suspect was seen fleeing the area – he’s been described as a man with light brown skin, tall with a larger build wearing dark clothing and a hood.
An increased police presence is expected in the area of Vanier Drive and Massey Avenue as the investigation continues.
