Drug trafficking arrests made, police find crossbow alongside suspected fentanyl

A months long drug trafficking investigation by Waterloo Regional Police has concluded with the arrest of two males.

Yesterday, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Direct Action Response Team used a search warrant in Cambridge.

Police found and seized a loaded handgun, crossbow, approximately 1 kilogram of suspected fentanyl, as well as suspected cocaine and prescription medications.

Due to the investigation, police arrested a 25-year-old male from Brampton and a 40-year-old from Cambridge. They’ve been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as weapons offences.

They will remain in police custody. as they wait for a bail hearing.
