Drug trafficking arrests made; police find crossbow and suspected fentanyl

A months-long drug trafficking investigation by Waterloo Regional Police Service has concluded with the arrest of two men.

Yesterday, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Direct Action Response Team used a search warrant in Cambridge.

Officers found and seized a loaded handgun, crossbow, approximately one kilogram of suspected fentanyl, as well as suspected cocaine and prescription medications.

Due to the investigation, police arrested a 25-year-old male from Brampton and a 40-year-old from Cambridge. They’ve been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as weapons offences.

They will remain in police custody for a bail hearing.
