Dodgeball teams from across the province will be at Rim Park in Waterloo this weekend for the 2025 Dodgeball Ontario Provincial Championships.
28 teams will take part in the two day event, which begins on Saturday, including from London, Toronto, Sarnia and North Bay. No teams from Waterloo Region are in the competition.
The tournament will feature both men’s and women’s divisions in a foam ball format. The winners of the tournament will then head to Calgary in April to face off in Dodgeball Canada Club Finals. Ontario will send six men’s teams and five women’s teams.
Steve Villesche, the president of Dodgeball Ontario, said they have held tournaments at Rim Park before, calling the facility ‘top notch.’
“RIM Park is just incredible,” said Villesche. “The gym itself is wonderful and the staff is great to deal with, and because we do livestreaming we need venues with at least decent WI-FI capabilities.”
The tournament will be livestreaming three of the five courts being used on Dodgeball Ontario’s YouTube Page. The other two courts will also have their games recorded and uploaded afterwards.
The event is open to spectators and is free to attend.
The first game on Saturday will begin at 9:25 a.m, with the first game on Sunday starting at 11 a.m.
