Bridgeport Road crash sends one to hospital, leads to lengthy hydro repairs

A crash on Bridgeport Road East in Waterloo sent one person to hospital and led to lengthy hydro repairs.
Waterloo Regional Police Service say the crash happened Wednesday night around 6:30 p.m. as two vehicles collided and one of them hit a hydro pole.
Bridgeport Road had to be closed for several hours between Devitt Avenue and Ellis Crescent because of the incident.
The repairs continued until Thursday morning at 10 a.m. but *401 callers to 570 NewsRadio said the roadway continued to be blocked in the area. However, it reopened Thursday afternoon.
Police confirmed one of the involved drivers was charged under the Highway Traffic Act.
The crash also sent one person to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
