Kitchener Rangers break 8-year streak in Ottawa against the 67’s

It was the exact turn around the Kitchener Rangers were looking for in Ottawa yesterday as they beat the 67’s with a dominant 5-1 score.

The first period had an action-packed 60 seconds of play seven minutes in, with Jack LaBrash scoring a goal to kick things off. This was followed by a goal from Ottawa just 30 seconds later before The Blue Shirts took the lead again when Luca Romano got another point on the board 12 seconds after that.

The Rangers would go on to score three more goals uncontested for the rest of the game, with one by Cameron Reid in the second and two more in the third by Adrian Misaljevic and Jack Pridham.

This marks the first win by the East Avenue Blues while visiting Ottawa in eight years, with plenty of accomplishments by the team.

Luca Romano got to the 20 goal mark for the first time in his OHL career, Christian Humphreys point streak is extended to five games following his assist in the third, and Jackson Parsons got his 31st win of the season.

The Rangers will wrap up their three-game road trip this afternoon when they head to Peterborough to take on the Petes.

The game was scheduled for 2 p.m. but was delayed by an hour due to the wintery weather. Puck drop will now be at 3 p.m. and you can catch the action starting with the pregame show with Mike Farwell and Paul Fixter starting at 2:30 p.m. on 570 News Radio.
