The City of Kitchener has now ended an on-street parking ban after a winter wallop brought around 20 centimetres of snow.
All local municipalities in Waterloo Region declared snow events and/or significant weather events Wednesday as a major storm moved in.
The City of Kitchener’s declarations were initially set to expire Thursday at 9 p.m., but both were extended until 9 p.m. on Friday.
However, the on-street parking ban was then lifted early around 4 p.m. Friday.
The mid-week snowstorm prompted the Region of Waterloo to declare a significant weather event for the first time ever. That declaration was lifted mid-Thursday.
Some municipal on-street parking bans also ended Thursday afternoon.
The snow event in Cambridge was set to expire Thursday at 7 p.m. but it was extended to 11:59 p.m.
Other remaining parking bans in Waterloo and Woolwich also ended Thursday just before midnight.
