It’s all gravy from here… well, sort of.
The Kitchener Rangers have punched their ticket to the playoffs once again and they did it with style. A 9-1 drubbing of the Niagara Ice Dogs on Saturday night was the clincher.
Kitchener is now the second team to secure a playoff appearance this season. The Knights did it early last week when they beat the Rangers in London.
By no means can the Rangers take their foot off the gas, though, despite a guaranteed spot in the post-season.
More on the Blueshirts
Kitchener trails London by three points for top spot in both the OHL’s Western Conference and overall, with two meetings between these two clubs remaining.
Oshawa is in a battle of their own in the Eastern Conference.
They are tied with the Brantford Bulldogs for second, two points back of the Barrie Colts for first place. All three of those teams are still looking to cement their appearance in the playoffs.
Meantime, the Oshawa Generals have won four of their last five. Kitchener has won two in a row.
