A snowfall warning has officially ended for Waterloo Region, but many city roads are still plagued with slippery conditions.
More than 10 centimetres of snow fell between Saturday afternoon and overnight, carrying into the morning.
While the Environment Canada warning has been lifted, municipally declared snow events are still in effect for Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and Wilmot Township, with all on-street parking now prohibited until further notice. Any vehicle found parked on a street side could face possible fines and ticketing.
During weather events, the cities recommend avoiding the roads whenever possible. If you need to go out, make sure to drive with caution as cleanup efforts continue throughout the region. Drivers are asked to leave a healthy gap between themselves and any vehicles in front of them.
