Structure fire on Mulberry Drive in Cambridge; estimated damage of $500K

A structure fire was reported in a Cambridge neighborhood late Friday afternoon.
It was roughly 3:15 p.m. when the Cambridge Fire Department arrived at a significant fire at an apartment complex on Mulberry Drive.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze and prevent further spread of the fire to other units but three of the units were affected.
No injuries were reported, as people were able to evacuate thanks to warnings from smoke alarms and the building’s fire alarm system giving an early warning to residents.
Total damages from the blaze are estimated to be more than $500,000, and an investigation as to the origins of the fire is still ongoing.
