Gilead in Galt: Fan thrills at filming for Handmaid’s Tale in Cambridge
The actors and crew making the next season of The Handmaid’s Tale in downtown Galt can expect more fans lining the sidewalk for their final day of filming.
Friday wraps up 11 days of work shooting scenes in Queen’s Square and other locations, and the subsequent road closures on Main Street.
The main set piece in the Square is a giant wooden gallows with nooses, with scenes of hangings being acted out.

Large black SUVs were parked on the bridge, with real Canadian military armored vehicles parked on Main between the bridge and Water Street.
One fan in the crowd on the sidewalk at the west end of the Main Street Bridge told 570 NewsRadio it was exciting watching them film that scene, but she admitted she stopped watching the show after Season 1 because it was too intense.
Other fans spoke about waving to star, Elisabeth Moss, and her waving back at them.
Some fans said they love the show so much, they drove all the way from Sarnia this past week, and in previous years of filming in Galt, just to watch the show being made.

The movie crew vehicles and trailers have been taking up much of the parking in the Galt core.
Main Street is set to fully reopen by 3 a.m. Saturday, as the crews spend next week packing up and moving out.
