The Kitchener Rangers put on a dominating performance for 80’s night as they trounced the Owen Sound Attack 5-1 at the Kitchener Aud on Friday.
Rangers forward Adrian Misaljevic scored the first three goals to record his second OHL hat trick, earning himself first star honours. Chris Grisolia and Jack Pridham would each add a goal of their own, both scoring short handed in the third period. Owen Sound’s only goal came 19 seconds into the third period from Landon Hookey.
Goaltender Jason Schaubel, in place for Jackson Parsons, had a solid outing stopping 30/31 shots to improve to 6-1-1-1 this season. Schaubel is still undefeated when playing at the Kitchener Aud.
With Friday’s win, Kitchener moves up to second overall in the OHL standings, behind the London Knights, with 68 points and a record of 32-9-3-1.
The Rangers will be looking to make it three in a row as they head down to Michigan to take on the Erie Otters on Saturday night.
