A four-year member of the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is facing more assault charges.
The WRPS member has been arrested by the Hamilton Police Service following off-duty incidents in May of 2024 and Jan. 1, 2025.
The individual has been charged with two counts of assault and two counts of failing to comply with undertaking.
They will appear in Hamilton court on Feb. 7.
The individual already had a court date in Toronto on Jan. 15, the same day the new charges were announced by WRPS.
That stemmed from an incident in Toronto on June 1, 2024 where they were charged with two counts of assault.
The WRPS member has not been named. In June, police said the individual was suspended with pay.
The most recent update from WRPS said, “The member has been suspended without pay per the requirements of the Community Safety and Policing Act of Ontario.”
