Good news for Golden Hawks fans: heads coach Micahel Faulds is here to stay.
Laurier announced on Friday that Faulds, manager of football operations and head coach of the Laurier Golden Hawks, has signed a five-year contract extension with the organization, seeing him remain in the role until the 2030 season.
The 41-year-old coach is entering his 12th season as coach of the team, and is the second-longest serving coach in Laurier football history, only behind legendary coach Dave Knight.
“We’re excited to build on the foundation of long-term success that Coach Faulds has established,” said Kate McCrae Bristol, director of athletics and recreation at Laurier, in a press release.
“The growth of our football program can be credited to his ability to bring together a strong coaching staff dedicated to the personal development of our student-athletes and on-field success.”
The three-time OUA football coach of the year has led the Golden Hawks to a 63-41 record during his tenure, including two Yates Cup victories in 2016 and 2024.
