Kitchener Rangers muzzle Bulldogs in overtime victory

The Kitchener Rangers started the new year on a winning note with a 2-1 victory over the Brantford Bulldogs on Thursday.

The Blushirts earned a hard-fought overtime win on the road after trailing the Bulldogs for most of the game.

Rangers forward Max Dirracolo levelled the contest early in the third period before Jack Pridham fired home the game-winner for Kitchener in overtime.

Rangers netminder Jackson Parsons was in familiar form in Thursday’s win, stopping 27 shots en route to his 22nd win of the season. Parsons also starts the new year with the best goals-against-average in the OHL at 2.07.

With the win, the Rangers closed the gap on their rivals, the London Knights, for the top spot in the OHL, now sitting just four points behind the league leaders.

It’s a quick turnaround for the Rangers, as they return home to face the Erie Otters at The Aud on Friday night.
