Kitchener Rangers kick off 2025 schedule in Brantford

The Kitchener Rangers get their first chance to make good on some New Year’s resolutions on Thursday in Brantford.

The Blueshirts kick off their 2025 schedule against the Bulldogs at Brantford Civic Centre. The Rangers sit third in the OHL to start the new year, just six points behind the league-leading London Knights.

They’re riding a three-game win streak into the new year, which includes a 5-2 win over the North Bay Battalion on New Year’s Eve.

The Bulldogs are middle of the pack in the OHL, currently sitting 16 points behind the Rangers in the OHL standings.

Chicago Blackhawks prospect Nick Lardis has been the standout player for Brantford this season, scoring 32 goals in 34 games.

In team news, Rangers defenceman Jakub Chromiak will also play on Thursday, but not in Brantford. Chromiak is playing for his home nation of Slovakia, they’re taking on Finland in the World Junior Championship quarter-finals.

After tonight, the Rangers will return home for the first game of the year at The Aud against the Eerie Otters on Friday.
