Guelph woman arrested twice for stealing in the days around Christmas

A woman in Guelph is facing a list of charges after allegedly stealing twice in the days surrounding Christmas.

On Tuesday, Waterloo Regional Police were called to a business at the intersection of Speedvale Ave. and Stevenson St. at around 2:30 p.m.

Staff at that business noticed a woman stuffing items into her purse. When they confronted her, she punched them and fled.

A woman was in the process of stealing from another business when police intercepted her and placed the 39 year old under arrest.

The woman was released on Christmas Day, but just a day later on Thursday just before 1:30 p.m., she was allegedly found stealing from another business on Silvercreek Parkway N..

An employee there confronted the woman, who allegedly threatened to assault them.

Police found the woman in downtown Guelph several hours later and once again placed her under arrest. She’s being held for a bail hearing on Friday.
