School buses cancelled for WRDSB and WCDSB

The 570 NewsRadio Extreme Weather Centre is open Thursday, Dec. 5.

School buses, taxis and special education routes operated by both the Waterloo Catholic District School Board and Waterloo Region District School Board are cancelled on Thursday.

Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR) says the cancellation is due to current weather conditions.

Schools with the public and catholic boards remain open, all with extended-day child care programs.

Schools that have cancelled classes for the day:

• Verideia Classical Christian Academy
• Oak Bridge Academy
• Foundation Christian School (in Winterbourne)
• Gina’s College
• Discipleship Christian Secondary School (DCSS)

Wilmot Township has cancelled the DROP program, hosted by the Wilmot Family Resource Centre Inc. in the Youth Centre today.

Staff with the Bluewater Recycling Association also report a rescheduling of garbage/recycling collection routes in West Perth, with items being collected instead on Saturday, Dec. 7.
