Blowing snow expected Wednesday, weather advisory issued

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Another burst of winter weather is headed toward Waterloo Region as a blowing snow advisory is in effect for Wednesday.

Environment Canada said there’s the potential for snow and moderate wind gusts beginning early Wednesday morning.

Winds may gust up to 70 km/h at times and the conditions could persist into the evening hours.

The combination of the snowy, windy weather may reduce visibility on roadways and travel could become hazardous.

The situation may be more severe in areas that just received significant snowfall.

Many Ontario communities were hit with severe weather late Sunday into Monday.

In Waterloo Region, 14 cm of snow was recorded in the Stanley Park area of Kitchener as of 9 p.m. Sunday.
