Kitchener Rangers ready to defend The Aud against Attack

After nearly a week off, the Kitchener Rangers are back in action on Friday night, rested and ready to take on the Owen Sound Attack at The Aud.

The Blueshirts are coming off an impressive 4-0 victory over the Eerie Otters last Saturday, after taking a pair of losses in a row to the Winsor Spitfires and London Knights.

After being dethroned from the top spot in the OHL last week, the Rangers now sit in third place, five points behind the league-leading Knights.

On paper, the Attack don’t pose too much of a challenge for the Rangers, as they sit second-to-bottom in the Western conference, and have only won one of their last five games.

The last time these two teams faced each other, the Attack came out with a 5-4 overtime win over the Blueshirts.

In team news, Rangers sophomore defenceman Cameron Reid took the spotlight this past week, as was involved in the CHL USA Prospects Challenge, a two-game event showcasing the top first-year 2025 NHL Draft-eligible prospects in the CHL facing off against Team USA.

Goaltender Jackson Parsons is expected to retain his place between the pipes for the Rangers tonight. His impressive performances against the Spitfires, Knights, and Otters were good enough for him to be named OHL Goalie of the Week.

On Sunday, the Rangers will head east down Highway 7 for a rivalry match-up against the Guelph Storm.
