With wintry weather in the forecast and the temperature starting to take a nosedive, comes a warning from Guelph police to never leave your car running unattended.
The police service says a warm-up theft has already been reported this week.
It happened Tuesday morning in the Starwood Dr. and Summit Ridge Dr. area.
A driver left his pick-up truck running in his driveway around 8:20 a.m. When his wife went outside a short time later, she saw the truck was gone.
A thief apparently saw the opportunity to hop in and steal the vehicle, which had a suitcase and medication inside because the couple was planning to go on an overnight trip.
The vehicle is described as a grey 2014 Toyota Tacoma.
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact the Guelph Police Service.
