A young girl in Cambridge will have her wildest dreams come true next week after winning a pair of tickets to see her idol, Taylor Swift, in concert.
“I was over the moon, I had no words,” said Kristen Saroli, a young athlete won the tickets for the show in Toronto on Nov. 16 through the Jays Care Foundation.
Rogers, the presenting sponsor of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, donated hundreds of tickets to charities, including the ones given to Saroli by the Jays Care Foundation.
She plays in Jays Care’s local Challenger Baseball program called Buddy League, an adaptive baseball program for children and youth living with physical or cognitive disabilities.
Saroli received her first Taylor Swift album when she was just four or five years old, and has been a diehard fan ever since.
“I’m a huge Swiftie, I’m like the biggest fan,” she said.
When Saroli told her friends she had won the tickets, they could hardly believe her.
“Some of them were like ‘What the heck! No way you get to go!’,” said Saroli. “A lot of them didn’t believe me. Even my friends who aren’t Swifties. I had to convince them that I’m actually going and I told them the whole story.”
Saroli and her mom, Lori, will join the more than 500,000 people flocking to Toronto next week to take in Swift’s stop in the city for her sold-out Eras Tour.
Swift will perform at Rogers Centre from Nov. 14 to Nov. 16 and the following week from Nov. 21 to Nov. 23.
