Replica handgun, suspected fentanyl seized after disturbance in Waterloo

Weapons and drug charges have been laid by Regional Police after an incident on Churchill Street in Waterloo yesterday.

Around noon, police were called out to a home on that street after getting a report about a firearm being brandished during a disturbance.

Officers arrested a man at the scene, who turned out to be wanted for breach of recognizance, and failing to appear in court.

Police say they seized a replica handgun, and some suspected fentanyl was also found.

No one was hurt.

The 43-year-old from Waterloo is facing a list of new charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and more.
