KW Santa Claus Parade set for Nov. 16

By Erin Anderson

Mark your calendar! The KW Santa Claus Parade returns on Saturday, Nov. 16.

The annual parade is a local tradition that sees families, dignitaries, organizations, and members of the business community come together to celebrate the holidays.

It’s put on by the Lions Club of Kitchener and you can expect tons of floats and Santa himself.

The event starts with the Santa Run, which kicks off at 9:45 a.m.

The parade then begins at 10 a.m. on Weber Street, commencing at Frederick Street in Kitchener and ending at Erb Street in Waterloo.

Along the way, helpers with Canada Post will be collecting kids’ letters for Santa, which he’ll take back to the North Pole after the parade.

You can also bring donations for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region and Knights of Columbus Toy Drive, and any new winter clothing like mittens and hats will go to Sanguen Health Centre to be distributed to those in need.

More details on the parade can be found by clicking here.
