Starting on Friday, you may see a red ribbon on the vehicle beside you on your commute around Waterloo Region.
Regional police are teaming up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to host the launch of the National Red Ribbon Campaign.
The campaign runs from Nov. 1 until Jan. 8, 2025, with thousands of red ribbons and red ribbon vehicle decals being distributed throughout the region and across the country.
According to Mark Crowell, chief of Waterloo Regional Police, impaired driving is the leading criminal cause of death in Canada.
You’re welcomed to attend the national launch of the event at Waterloo Regional Police Service headquarters at 200 Maple Grove Road starting at 11 a.m.
