Cambridge woman dead in collision after running red light

A morning collision in Cambridge has now been confirmed fatal.

It happened just before 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Eagle Street North and Concession Road.

According to police an 80-year-old Cambridge woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said she ran a red light and struck a transport truck. The truck driver was not hurt.

The intersection was closed for several hours Thursday but has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing but charges are not anticipated.
