Kitchener Rangers sit atop the OHL after seventh straight victory

Make it lucky number seven for the East Avenue Blue.

The Kitchener Rangers are the hottest team in the OHL right now, extending their win streak to seven games and their point streak to 12 after a commanding 6-1 win over the Sarnia Sting at The Aud on Tuesday.

The mid-week game didn’t lack any excitement, as the Rangers racked up four unanswered goals in the first 11 minutes of the opening frame, including a clutch penalty shot from forward Chris Grisolia.

Kitchener defender Jakub Chromiak scored his first as a Ranger and was crowned first star for his impressive two-point performance.

Rangers netminder Jackson Parsons was solid on the night and recorded his eighth-straight win, but he had a fairly quiet outing in net, being tested just 22 times by Sarnia skaters.

The Kitchener Rangers are now sitting on top of the OHL standings with 22 points, with the Windsor Spitfires sitting just one point behind them with a pair of games in hand.

The Blueshirts will get a pair of days off before heading back to The Aud on Friday to take on the Sudbury Wolves.
