Rangers welcome Erie for front half of home & home

The East Avenue Blue, coming off three games in three nights last weekend, host the Erie Otters for the first game of a home-and-home tonight.

Three wins last week have propelled the Kitchener Rangers to first place in the OHL’s Midwest Division, six points up on the second place Otters.

The 7-2-1-1 record puts the Rangers in second place in the Western Conference and second overall in the league.

If the Rangers hope to keep their four game win streak going, they will have to do it without forward Matheas Stark.

The left winger suffered an upper-body injury in last Sunday’s 4-2 win over the Guelph Storm. He is listed as day-to-day but is unlikely to play this weekend.

Some Rangers picked up honours earlier this week.

Defenceman Cameron Reid was named to the roster for the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge.

He, along with center Luca Romano and winger Tanner Lam were also included among the 62 OHL players on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Players to Watch list.

Mike Farwell and Paul Fixter will have all the action this weekend on 570 News Radio.

The pregame show tonight begins at 6:30 pm.
